Consent to a Higher Purpose

It isn’t a sexy philanthropy to give to. It’s hard to talk about, and even harder to comprehend. Sexual Assault. They are two words that are synonymous to pain and suffering. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a shining light in a dark subject.

In Roosevelt County, we are fortunate enough to have ARISE Sexual Assault Services to act as our light in the darkness. The composite group of professionals and volunteers acts as a 24/7 advocate for local victims. Hotlines telephone numbers are worked around the clock for victims to call in. Sane nurses are onsite to offer free examinations for victims. The small ARISE office’s quiet exterior does not mirror the generator of hope that occurs behind the front door; 7 employees and a small army of volunteers fighting to counteract the horrendous acts of predators.

The RGH Foundation has partnered with ARISE, in hopes of bringing awareness to this cause. In the month of April, any donation to the RGH Foundation will go towards providing essential equipment and necessities that they will need as the organization transitions into it’s new building later this year. The RGH Foundation will match donations up to $1,000.

If you are looking for a cause this year, look no further. The money you donate can directly help someone from your community.
